A few years ago, Saleam experienced a series of adversities and found himself facing homelessness. Support from a local shelter led to stable housing, and a case manager connected him to Community Warehouse.

“I didn’t know it was going to be this good of quality of furniture,” he recalls. “When I went there to pick out my furniture, it still felt like a dream. It didn’t feel real.”

Settled into his new home, Saleam was able to further dive into his passion for creating art. “I really feel like art, or any gift that someone has, should be used to help other people and inspire,” he says.

For Saleam, Community Warehouse was more than just a furniture provider. Community Warehouse played a major part in me continuing to walk on the right path.”

We were honored to feature Saleam at this year’s Chair Affair. See more of his inspiring artwork here.
