"Zacara is Swahili"
After finishing a degree at PSU in graphic design, Greg owned and operated Pen & Pencil Grafix for 23 years. Working late one night, Greg reached for an old box of used pastels a friend had given him. Since that first effort in 1985, he was used to no other media, discovering chaulk pastels as the tool best suited for his personal expression.
His interest in nature is abundant and is reflected in the various works derived from his many travels, and especially Portland’s own back yard.
A string of gallery shows and winning competitions, from Lake Oswego Art Festival to the Rose Festival Poster, has demonstrated the diverse skills and dedication to his work.
