For Theresa “Tress” Prefontaine, glass is her language and the work she does with kiln formed glass is her conversation. Inspiration comes from many directions and it is reflected in the variety or colors and shapes of her finished pieces. Her work is in private collections in Europe and South America as well as the Pacific Northwest.
Prefontaine Studio, founded in 2006, is situated on the northern slope of Mt. Tabor, home to Portland’s urban volcano. Theresa teaches glass classes from her studio, and offers one-day jewelry making workshops for hosted parties of 4-8 people. As a community educator, she also teaches glass classes for Portland Community College.
Hand Crafted using Bullseye Glass, Theresa’s pieces are made with lead free glass and are food-safe so there is no need to worry – if you’d like you can even lick your plate.
