Robyn Williams is best known for her mixed media assemblages made primarily from found and recycled objects. Encaustic painting is becoming increasingly more prevalent in her work. Robyn’s work reflects a strong personal interest in Mexican religious folk art-especially shrines, retablos and Day of the Dead motifs. Calaveras and Milagros combine with rusty hardware, thrift store finds and bits of street detritus to create assemblages that often make statements on a variety of social and political collages.
Robyn formed Found Art Studio in 2010 as a forum to promote found object assemblage among art patrons and the use of found objects in the work of artists working in a variety of mediums. Robyn is a member of the board for Portland Open Studios and is a member of the Oregon Women’s Caucus for Art.
