Morgan Cole Pasinski is a painter who relies on texture, a subtle color palette, and familiar objects to create simple and nostalgic paintings. She works for months on her backgrounds, adding and removing layers, striving to achieve a complexity and softness that evoke the passage of time. She is inspired by the beauty of old walls that have collected layers of paint, dirt, moss, and graffiti. She primarily works with oil paint, but also incorporates other media such as encaustics, oil pastels and pencil.
Morgan grew up on the beaches of Northwest Washington and received a degree in Fine Arts at Western Washington University in 2000. For the last four years she has been working out of her studio in the Goldsmith Building in Old Town Portland, where she and other artists regularly open their studios for the First Thursday Gallery Walk.
