Marilyn & Margaux Davis

"FLIGHT OF FANTASY"

The longer Marilyn Davis works with watercolors, the more she realizes that giving up control yields the best results. This is both the beauty and frustration of painting with watercolors.

Marilyn has worked throughout her life trying to reach her full potential as a painter, striving toward that fine point of satisfaction. Having spent the past 35 years devoted to both teaching and creating her own art, she has always been influenced by her travel experiences and enthusiasm for nature. Combining scenes from years of living and traveling around the world , along with the colors and the shapes of nature, Marilyn tries to capture the essence of a scene rather than copy it from photos taken.

For Marilyn, painting is emotional. Using colors and making them work together is important, as is how colors reach and relate to each other. For the CHAIR AFFAIR + Marilyn is pleased to collaborate with her daughter, Margaux, an interior designer at an architecture firm.
