"LA CHAISE ELEGANTE"
Marian Spadone is an artist who currently makes beautiful, biodegradable burial shrouds. She has worked in many different media, including furniture and faux painting, so that creating a piece for the CHAIR AFFAIR+ is a return to something she’s enjoyed before.
In addition to her art, Marian enjoys a stellar relationship with her grown daughter, once spent 10 months tent-camping across the United States, has danced with a boa constrictor, worked in a Buddhist retreat center in England, endured 7 months in an intentional community in Italy and now lives in Portland, where she once raised chickens in her yard. She follows Eleanor Roosevelt’s dictum by doing something every day that scares her.
