Katherine Purtzer

"FEUILLES NATURELLES EN NOIR"

Katherine Purtzer enjoyed a 25-year exploration of the fashion industry on both coasts of the United States. Her lifelong interest in fashion began with a formal art education at the age of 10, continuing through high school and college, culminating with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art.

Katherine held various positions as a textile designer, including an internship with couture designer, Mary McFaddan, scarf designer at Anne Klein, Inc., Donna Karan and Louis Del Olio. Helping to formulate and shape the first apparel collections for women’s Faconnable in Nice, France and the private collection label of Garbo for Nordstrom were a few highlights of her career. Katherine continues to teach and create art privately, showing work through a gallery in the Portland Pearl district.
