Bridget Benton has worked and taught in a variety of creative media since 1988 including fiber, photography, jewelry, collage, paint, encaustic, text and performance–always with a strong use of personal symbols that encourage the viewer to develop their own narrative.
She currently teaches workshops from her studio in Portland, and travels to teach encaustic and mixed-media classes with organizations such as the Nature Printing Society, Art Unraveled and the Healing Arts Project. Her passion is helping people rediscover their own creative power, and her workshops focus on nurturing this intuitive process.
Bridget’s art tutorials have been featured in GreenCraft magazine, whipup.com and craftzine.com, and she has been a guest on AM Northwest. She believes in finding beauty in the moment, letting art happen, and the power of intuition. Her book, “Artmaking as Playful Prayer,” due out this summer, is a guide to igniting your own creative spark as a part of your spiritual journey.
