Ann holds a Fine Arts degree from University of North Colorado. She made a detour from school for a couple of years in Breckenridge where skiing became her other “major.” After many moves across the country, in 1985 Ann settled with her family in Portland. She has been the art teacher at Jackson Middle School for the last 18 years, engaging students to learn and be accountable for their actions through the arts. Ann has also led workshops for teachers at Lewis & Clark, the Portland Art Museum, and for Young Audiences. She has been a national trainer for the Leonard Bernstein Foundation for the last ten years. Portland Public Schools awarded her the “Excellence in Education” award in 1998, and she received the “Sunburst” award from Young Audiences in 2000.
There are no art materials Ann does not like to get her hands on, which makes a perfect fit for being a middle school art teacher.
